TIJUANA - On Saturday January 11 in the Tecate Arena in Tijuana the former super lightweight CMB champion Tony de Marco (29-3-1 22KOs)

lead by who many consider the best manager in the world Freddie Roach will face the Mexicali native Jesus "Pantera" Gurrola (20-5-3 9KOs). The fight will open the year for promotion company Zanfer in regards to their boxing events.

De Marco won the world lightweight CMB championship in October of 2011 when he defeated by knockout Jorge Linares, he then had two successful title defenses against Miguel Roman and John Molina in 2012. In 2013 he reappeared in the Tecate Arena in Tijuana beating Fidel Monterrosa in front of a standing ovation.

De Marco's rival is a dangerous one; "Pantera" Gurrola has 7 wins in his last 8 fights and in his list of victories the names such as Abner Mares, Noe Bolaños, and Armando Robles. The five losses he has have all been by decision; one of them against "Maromerito" Paez who he has faced on another occasion which ended in a draw.

The experts predict an open and exciting fight with lots of action. Gurrola is a very aggressive fighter who likes to push forward, while de Marco is more of a counter punch fighter who can exploit his strengths in this fight.
