TIJUANA - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles suffered their first loss at home in 10 months when they took a 0-3 loss to Chiapas FC in week 8 action of the Clausura 2014 season of LIGA Bancomer MX.

Tijuana Xolos had accumulated 17 matches without losing at home, counting league (13), Copa Libertadores (2), and CONCACAF Champions League (2). But Two goals from Carlos Ochoa and one from Luis Robles ended that impressive streak for the Xoloitzcuinltes.

The game started bad and just kept getting worse for the home side. In the 9th minute center referee Paul Delgadillo awarded Chiapas FC a penalty for a hand ball on Xolos defender Elio Castro. The replays show the ball was shot to his hand from close range, making it a harsh call. Veteran striker Carlos Ochoa stepped up and converted the PK to an early 0-1 lead.

Club Tijuana could never recover from the early blow. They tried to push forward in search of an equalizer, but left themselves vulnerable in the back; something the visitors took full advantage of.

In the 32nd minute a cross came in from the left side of the Xolos defense, central defender Hernan Pellerano, who was making his re-appearance after an injury, got to the long cross late and Chiapas FC's Ramon Mendieta was able to put the ball across the face of goal for Carlos Ochoa to tap in his second of the night.

The second goal further unsettled the Xolos and they became even more vulnerable in the back. In the 42nd minute another cross came into the box and another mistake from Argentine center back Hernan Pellerano lead to the third goal. Pellerano swung his foot at the high ball that came in completely missing it and leaving it there for Chiapas FC's Luis Robles to have a free shot right in front of Cirilo Saucedo.

For the second half Tijuana manager Cesar Farias made bif offensive changes taking off central defender Hernan Pellerano and bringing in American midfielder Joe Corona, he would later take off midfielder Fernando Arce to bring American forward Paul Arriola. And with about 15 minutes to he would also introduce Herculez Gomez into the match.

The more aggressive mentality was seen right from the start of the second half as at least five Xolos players would find themselves in the box whenever a cross came in. But despite the fact that they had a large number of attackers for the entire of the second half, the Xoloitzcuintles were not able to break down the visitors' defensive unit.

Club Tijuana will now hit the road and travel to the southern Veracruz port to face the "Tiburones Rojos" of Veracruz. They'll want to forget about losing their impressive home unbeaten streak by putting an end to their winless visiting streak.
