LOS ANGELES - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente's next rival; Los Angeles Galaxy had their season opening match on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Los Angeles. The LA team took a 0-1 loss to last season's MLS runners up Real Salt Lake.

"We didn't deserve to lose" said Galaxy star Landon Donovan "sometimes it happens, the best team on the field loses. That is soccer."

The California team had the better chances on goal throughout the night, but were unable to put the ball past the Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando. Not even with a 92nd minute penalty that could have equalized the game.

"All MLS teams go in at a disadvantage"

The Galaxy will only have a few days to regroup before facing the Tijuana Xolos on Wednesday night in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champion's League (CCL) quarterfinals.

The General manager / head coach of the Los Angeles Galaxy Bruce Arena mentioned that all American clubs face a disadvantage in the final rounds of the CONCACAF Champion's League.

"It's (MLS schedule) the same old story. The league has always had this calendar and has never change. We all go into the knockout stages at a disadvantage."
