San Diego Flash open season with high hopes

New season kicks off Saturday night.

SAN DIEGO - A brand new season on the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) has arrived for the San Diego Flash. They kick off the new season on Saturday night in Mira Mesa against Santa Clarita Storm.

The season opening match is scheduled for Saturday March 22nd at the Mira Mesa High School soccer field (10510 Reagan Rd, San Diego, CA 92126) at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10.

The Flash will be excited and full of confidence to get the new season under way following their qualification to the historic U.S. Open Cup competition. They beat out fellow NPSL Southwestern division opponents FC Hasental last weekend to achieve their breath into the tournament.

Exciting players to see this season:

The leader in the middle of the field is Andy Ortega. You can see him running up and down the the length of the pitch helping out the defenders as well as the attackers. Most dangerous plays for the Flash will go through Ortega’s feet.

Forward Justin Picou will be looking to get the ball into the back of the net as often as possible. Picou scored both goals last week against FC Hasental which led the team to overturn a 1-0 halftime deficit.
