TIJUANA - Venezuelan attacking midfielder Juan Arango has accepted the offer from Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente and becomes the first Xolos signing heading towards the Apertura 2014 season of LIGA Bancomer MX.

Arango had completed his contract at German club Borrusia Monchengladbach and joins Club Tijuana on a free transfer.

The Venezuelan confirmed the transfer to the German newspaper BILD and mentioned he was signing a two year contract with an option for a third.

"I know I was signing my last big contract and wanted to play at least two more years" expressed Arango to BILD.

The German club had offered Arango a one year contract extension, while the Xoloitzcuintles offered him two. With the added bonus of being able to play under former National Team manager Arango chose the border town club over the European side.

"Gladbach offered me a one year extension but told me my spot on the team was no longer guaranteed. It is a shame because I love the Bundesliga and Borussia and would have loved to stay." Concluded Arango.
