Mexican manager Miguel Herrera expresses his disappointment

Piojo Herrera speaks following Mexico's World Cup elimination.

Mexican National Team manager was extremely disappointed once the final whistle blew confirming Mexico's Round of 16 exit for a sixth consecutive World Cup. He could barely speak as he attended post match TV interview.

"I'm very disappointed" said the intense Mexico manager to the television interview immediately after the match "we did not achieve what we came here to do."

Herrera had mentioned that the quarterfinals were the bare minimum of achievements this team had set out. Mexico has never been able to reach that stage of the competition outside of home soil. They twice reached the final eight in 1970 and 1986 when the World Cup was hosted in Mexico.

Regarding the referee 'El Piojo' was still to upset to give full declarations; but he made it clear he was not impressed with the officiating through out the tournament.

After being able to leave the pitch and calm down a bit Herrera was able to give a full interview. In his opinion his team let the match go.

"We gave up a goal in the 86th minute, we should have been smarter. We needed to dragg the ball to the corner, win a foul, something. We were missing intelligence to close out the game."
