UNITED STATES.- Press tours for the upcoming rematch between Argentine Marcos Maidana and Floyd Mayweather, the U.S. boxer who is considered the best in the world, got started a few days ago. At a conference this week held in San Antonio, Texas, things got a little heated when the two boxers started shoving eachother. Based on the images, it appears as though the South American shoved the "Money" twice.
Seeking out extra press, Maidana understands that he has to sell himself a little more in light of his defeat in the ring in his last go around with Mayweather. The so-called "Mayweather-Maidana 2" match will take place on September 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Mayweather was clear when he said that his rival's boxing style is dirty, as Maidana constantly delivers low blows, head bunts, and uses his shoulders. Mayweather has stated that he has changed his training and is taking extra care of his physique given that he will be facing a mixed-martial arts fighter.
Maidana's response was even more direct, and although he credited Mayweather for his presence in the ring, he stated that he would have no other option but to hit him hard and knock him out because he knows how to make points. He added that he will be working from a distance in order to not commit the same mistakes as the first match.
