New book about Jorge Hank Rhon is being published

A revealing investigation detailing the myths and facts of the businessman.

"The Liturgy of the White Tiger", that's the title of the book published by Ocean Publishing detailing the life and myths of 56 years old businessman Jorge Hank Rhon, who was mayor of Tijuana from 2004 to 2007.

The research from the book's author, Daniel Salinas Basave, will relate from his arrival to the border city, to his most recent scandals, such as when he was arrested in June 2011 for alleged possession of weapons at his residence inside the Agua Caliente Racetrack.

The book, whose first chapter is now available via the Internet, refers to "a society that fears him and wishes him, that detest him and acclaim him," as described by Salinas Basave.

Jorge Hank Rhon, the son of Carlos Hank Gonzalez who was governor of the State of Mexico from 1968 to 1975, has become an emblem of his political party, Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) in this border; after ending his term as mayor of Tijuana, he sought the State governorship in 2007, which lost to Jose Guadalupe Osuna Millan.

"In this city, the legend of Jorge Hank Rhon is a favorite. The difference between Tijuana and Jorge Hank is that Tijuana struggles every day to remove his dark past, while Jorge Hank does not seem to be bothered by it, or at least he never expressly denies it," recounts the author.

It will be on May 31st when the author, Daniel Salinas Basave, will present his work within the 'Feria del Libro de Tijuana' (Tijuana Book Fair).
