Ring in the New Year dancing!

Several places in the County will host a New Year's Eve Celebration with a Latin theme

There's nothing like ringing in the New Year with hot Latin music, that's why around the County this Friday night there will be several events where you can say goodbye to 2010 to the sound of Caribbean music.

There may be no better way to start the New Year than by moving to the rhythm of a conga or a salsa.

The "12th Annual New Year's Eve with Salsa" at Tio Leo's Lounge, is a good place to say goodbye to 2010 and cheerfully welcome 2011.

"Salsa is a music full of energy," said Valerie Ortíz Wallace, the event coordinator and one of San Diego's most renowned salsa promoters.

"Imagine yourself dancing while ringing in the New Year. It is a wonderful way to start a new stage in your life," she added.

Another event where salsa will be the special guest of the night is the Salsa Party in Miami Grille, where salsa dancer Walter Meneses will demonstrate a few steps so you can let yourself loose to the sounds of the Latin Groove Combo band; in addition, this event will host a Cuban cuisine buffet.

If your goal for 2011 is to learn to dance salsa, you can achieve it with Meneses, one of the best salsa teachers in town.

At these events, and others listed below, San Diegans will be saying "¡Feliz año nuevo!"
