Seafood and Wine: Ensenada and San Felipe at their best

The most exquisite palates will gather at the "Antigua Ruta del Vino" and San Felipe this weekend

"Fiestas del Vino" and "Ceviche Fest 2012" are two great options to celebrate this weekend south of Ensenada and in San Felipe, Baja California.

Next Saturday, September 01, an event titled "Fiestas del Vino" (Wine Fest) will be held at the Antigua Ruta del Vino cellar, in the Ejido Uruapan, south of Ensenada's Port.

Attendees will be able to sample the excellent wines produced in the region and taste traditional Baja California Cuisine, all of this beginning at noon.

The activity program includes grape stomping, Flamenco and traditional Mexican dances, live music and, of course, the gastronomy famous for its olive oils as well as its artisanal cheeses and bread.

Some of the wine houses participating will be Cavas del Moro, Viñedos Villarino, El Grullo Tinto, Vinos Cruz Vázquez, Cava Casillas Torres and Vinos Málagsa, all of them with wine produced in the Antigua Ruta del Vino (Old Wine Route) that encompasses the Santo Tomás, San Vicente and La Grulla Valleys, in the Ejido Uruapan.

The "Old Wine Route" cellar is located in the Km 41.5 of the Transpeninsular Highway in the Ejido Uruapan, south of Ensenada.

From the sea to your table.

Also this next Saturday, a ceviche-centered festival will be taking place in San Felipe, where 15 exhibitors offering this dish's best featuring products from the Sea of Cortes will gather.

The festivities include a tasting and a competition for the best ceviche in town as well as an artistic program to accompany the ocean's joys.

The fest will be free of cost.
