In recent surveys, it is not a big surprise that the Latino community still prefers to vote for Obama instead of Romney.

Their recent policies and speeches aside from the presidential debate, where the topic of Immigration reform has not been even mentioned, has had some negative effects: Obama has gone from 72% of Latinos who had planned to vote for him down to 67%, and Romney on the other hand has moved up from 20% to 23%.

Despite these results Obama is currently more popular now, than in the elections in 2008 when the presidential race was between him and John McCain.

The surveys also revealed that one of the most important factors for Obama was, the first lady.

Michelle Obama has become a great example for all women in and out of the United States, not only because of the causes she advocates for, but also because of the similarities she shares with the common woman especially with Latinas.

In a survey where the opinions of the Latinas were taken, it came back with results that more than half of the women’s vote was influenced by Michelle Obama.

Usually in the Latina type of family culture, the wife usually speaks about the family and what the male can achieve, which in this case the Presidential couple is no exception.

Michelle Obama is an educated woman, who takes care of maintaining the relationship of her husband and children grounded leaving aside her professional life.

How about another similarity like, Michelle’s mother also lives with the presidential family, and also takes care of the children.

Also she is a woman like any other that looks for the best for her family as a standard, who as the first lady of the United States advocates for child health, nutritional programs and exercise programs to fight against childhood obesity that is increasing and has become a problem in the population.

For the Latinos it is easy to feel some empathy for a family that has worked hard to reach the top, and maybe it’s due to the sense of value for all of the achievements that are won through effort, which is the biggest virtue of Latinos.
