Facebook continues to innovate, which this week a job search platform called “Social Jobs” has been launched in the U.S., and it is estimated that this application will provide approximately 1.73 million jobs.

The application can find jobs by location, distance and by other categories according to the user’s needs. With this tool Americans who wish to seek employment can log onto https://www.facebook.com/socialjobs/app_417814418282098

this link, and fill out all the fields in the application which the platform is already up and running, but be advised that this platform is still also under development , which it might not work perfectly and have unexpected updates.

Don’t forget to read the terms and conditions.

Social Jobs was created in partnership with the Department of Labor of the United States and among other companies including Jobvite, Monster, Work4Labs, U.S. Jobs and Branch Out. This is expected to create thousands of jobs and help lower the unemployment rate, which in October was 7.9% according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the United States.

Although this tool can be very useful, it is also necessary to take good care of your own personal profiles, because as reported by Forbes magazine "half of U.S. employers use social networks during their hiring process"

in order to better understand their potential employees. Therefore this tool can also end up being a double-edged sword.

Forbes says that 22% of social network users in the U.S. are over 45 years, so maybe this platform will help those people who are unemployed to find a job, as it has done in a "very effective" way in the past, even surpassing other web sites who specialized in this.

To use this new tool just write a keyword, place of residence, and distance from residence to work in category and subcategory of jobs available. To activate the search the application displays the offers that each of the five companies has available, which most of these companies have been in the U.S. labor market now for at least a few years.

With this service you can share information through your profile or even send messages and "likes", and also help inform your contacts with jobs that are available.

Even though this is through Facebook, the selection process is still based on the terms and conditions and hiring process of companies who have provided the information of their job openings.
