Spokesman for Top Rank, Fred Sternburg, announced that the next fight between Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao could take place in September 2013, during the weekend that Mexico celebrates its independence day.
Fernando Beltran, who is the representative for Marquez told ESPN that both Marquez and him are aware that Pacquiao had given them the opportunity for a fourth fight, and now they will extend the same courtesy to Pacquiao. This decision has confirmed that its not time yet for either Marquez or Pacquiao to retire.
Now that Pacquiao has returned to the Philippines with his family, he spoke about the statements that Dr. Rustico Jimenez made about him having symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
The Filipino champion characterized the statements as irresponsible, and said that in the studies that he had recently undergone, it showed that his health was in perfect condition.
Manny Pacquiao will return to Las Vegas to attend a clinic that specializes in brain health, and after obtaining those results, he will then proceed to make arrangements for his next few fights.
Pacquiao hopes to start training again in the first few weeks of February 2013, and is also contemplating two fights throughout this year, one of them being against Juan Manuel Marquez.
