MEXICO.- The bodies of 10 men presumably murdered by drug cartels in two separate incidents were found over the weekend on the border between the western Mexican states of Jalisco and Michoacan, officials said.
Seven bodies were found Sunday on a road in Jilotlan de los Dolores, a town near the state of Michoacan, municipal police spokesmen and Jalisco state officials told EFE.
The unidentified victims were found blindfolded and shot, leading investigators to suspect that an organized crime group was involved in the killings, officials said.
Police in Jilotlan de los Dolores received a tip from an anonymous caller on Sunday morning that the bodies were on the road.
Gunmen also killed three men early Sunday outside Quitupan, a city near Michoacan, in another suspected gang related shooting.
The gunmen arrived in the main plaza in the town of El Montoso aboard several SUVs and opened fire on the three men. The victims have not been identified and no arrests have been made, officials said.
Nine people have been murdered recently in shootings in the two towns.
