TIJUANA. – On Monday January 7, 2013, the Mayor of Tijuana, Carlos Bustamante, met with directors of the company Samjin LND, to discuss the possibility of building a plant in Tijuana that would produce LED lamps.

During the meeting that was held in the Mayor’s office, he pointed out the important role that Tijuana plays in the economic growth of the country through foreign investment, which investments for industries such as technology are the main focus during promotional tours in foreign countries.

The director of Samjin LND, Gyung Jae Lee, on his part presented a plan to build an industrial plant that would produce devices that are integrated with LED parts.

“At the present time we have two Comex Platech plants here in Tijuana, where LCD TV cabinets and frames are built. What we want to do is transform one of these plants into one that will now produce lamps with LED technology only,” said Lee.
