Xolos will play a friendly match against the USA

The game will be played at closed doors at the Home Depot Center on Tuesday

TIJUANA, BC.- Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente has two objectives for the first half of 2013: win the title of the Mexican soccer league once again and win for the first time for Mexico the Copa Libertadores de América. To do it so, the team is preparing well to fulfill its objectives.

The red and black club will play a friendly match on Tuesday afternoon against the United States National Team at the Home Depot Center stadium in Carson, California. The game will be perfect to prepare both squads for their different objectives.

Actions will start at 4PM PST, and there’s bad news for fans as the match will be played at closed doors, meaning no fanatic will be allowed to match the scrimmage between the two sides because of the informal nature of the event.

According to information sent by Xoloitzcuintles Press Department, the game will be played by those players who did not have participation against Pumas UNAM on last Sunday’s victory. This means that the goal could be defended by Adrián Zermeño, Sergio Vega and Jesús García.

The defensive line will have any of the following players: Alfredo González Tahuilán, Miguel Almazán, Greg Garza and Joshua Ábrego. Juan Pablo Santiago is doubtful for this match.

The midfield will be defended by Franco Amoroso, Leandro Augusto, Alejandro Guido, Luis Ángel García, Esteban Rodríguez, Edgar Villegas, Luis Eduardo García with the possibly entry of Joe Corona and Jorge Hernández.

The attack will be formed by Bruno Piceno, Duvier Riascos, Raúl Nava and Raúl Enríquez.

There is no information yet about players who had participation on Sunday; if they will travel to the Home Depot Center too or if they will work separately from their teammates.

On the stars and stripes side, the team is mostly made up by players from the national league and 4 reinforcements from Europe; there are some highlights like ex world cup players Eddie Johnson (WC 2006), Benny Feilhaber and Edson Buddle (WC 2010) and players from the 2011 Gold Cup Alejandro Bedoya, Juan Agudelo and Chris Wondolowski.

This game will mark the first visit from Club Tijuana to the Home Depot Center, home of the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA, both clubs from the Major League Soccer (MLS).
