Ready Lane will operate 24 hours a day at Otay border

The demand has become greater

Due to the high demand, as of next Sunday the Ready Lane at the border crossing in Otay will be operating 24 hours a day everyday.

This announcement was made by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which due to the high demand and the fact that 48% of the people who cross at this border, do it through this lane. With this change, they claim it will reduce the wait time in other lanes by 20%.

Previously, the Ready Lane operated only from 4a.m to 12p.m Monday through Friday, and from 8a.m to 12p.m. on the weekends.

In order to use this lane, everyone who drives through here is required to possess one out of the four documents that are integrated with radio-frequency-identification (RFID) like a U.S. passport, U.S. visa laser issued since 2008, the new permanent resident or green card, aside from also being a SENTRI authorized user.
