Xolos vs. Atlas, Tijuana looking to spoil the party

The red and black teams face off at 7p.m.

TIJUANA, BC. - Lately Club Tijuana has been on a good roll after winning now 3 consecutive matches, and hoping to get to Jalisco with this good rhythm to play against Atlas, who is also the other red and black team in the Mexican soccer league.

This match will be played at 9p.m. local time in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico (7p.m. PST) at the Jalisco stadium. And will be part of Week 9 of the Clausura 2013 tournament of the Liga MX.

This is being expected to be a very interesting match, since Atlas is only one point ahead of Xolos (17, 16) on the general standings board. Atlas is also in second place and Xolos are in fourth. In first place is Tigres of Nuevo Leon (UANL), which this is a very interesting combination that could lead to Xolos taking the number one spot on the board.

Xolos have not been scored on lately, and that’s counting the games that they have played in the Copa Libertadores, so surely coach Antonio Mohamed will set up his players with his usual 4-3-3 alignment that has worked with Cirilo Saucedo as the starting goalie, and on defense Edgar Castillo Juan Carlos Nunez, Javier Gandolfi and Pablo Cesar Aguilar.

Right after today’s game in Jalisco, Xolos will be traveling back to Tijuana to start preparing for the most important game of the Clubs history, where next Wednesday they will be hosting the FIFA World Cup Club champions, SC Corianthians Paulista from Brazil, in a match that will be part of the Copa Libertadores de America tournament 2013.
