Yesterday, North Korea said that the non-aggression pact with South Korea was not valid, as well as indicating that preemptive nuclear strikes would be also against the United States.

Their position on the matter was expressed after new UN sanctions against them were announced, which are as of a result of their nuclear weapons tests that were conducted back in mid-February of this year.

Today, the Ministry of Defense of South Korea through spokesman Kim Min-seok said that if North Korea undertakes the attacks, the regime of Kim Jong-Un would disappear from the face of the earth.

At the same time the South Korean President, Park Geun-hye, expressed his intention to respond to the attacks from the north and said that if North Korea maintained its position, then they are heading for self-destruction.

The U.S. response was no different. Jay Cartney, who is the White House spokesman said, "I can tell you that the United States is fully capable of defending against any North Korean ballistic missile attack," and added that the Asian nation "will get nothing with threats or provocations."

The non-aggression pact between these countries began in 1953 and will end on Monday, March 11.
