Broken face leaves Edgar Castillo out of USMNT

The Xolos player will be out for about a month

SAN DIEGO, CA.- The triple face fracture that Club Tijuana's left back Edgar Castillo suffered is the reason that he was left out of crucial FIFA World Cup Qualifying games against Costa Rica and Mexico. The injury came after a collision with Atlas defender Leandro Cufre back in week nine of the Liga MX.

United States Men's National Team (USMNT) head coach Jurgen Klinsmann said the injury problems have really affected his squad, and for that reason he couldn't call upon important players such as Castillo.

"It all started with Steve Cherundolo who had surgery in his knee. Also Castillo who some are aware of. And also Tim Howard"

In spite of these absences the German said "we have a good roster, and will be heading into these next games in a confident manner. I know I have a group of players that will do what it takes to get their job done. And we are all excited to have everyone now in Denver."

It is expected that Edgar Castillo be back playing within a month's time. After having successfully gone through surgery to fix the fractures, Castillo is expected to be in the black and red soon.
