9 year old girl survives deadly accident in California

She walked almost 2 miles up a canyon

9 year old Celia Renteria survived a tragic accident where her father, Alejandro Renteria, 35 years of age, unfortunately died instantly at the scene of the crash.

The incident happened around 1:00a.m. on a highway in Southern California, where Alejandro Renteria lost control and drove off a cliff, flipped several times and ended up at the bottom of the canyon. Celia then climbed out of wreck and walked almost 2 miles until she found a motorist around 2:30a.m that helped her out.

Police officers are amazed of Celia’s courage, because the area where she was is very dark, cold and dangerous to the extent that there are wild animals like coyotes roaming around. Both Celia and her father are from the city of Los Angeles. Same city where she was air lifted to and treated for injuries she suffered from the accident.

At the moment it is only known that the young girl is out of danger and with her family. But she is also sad to know that her father has passed away.

Authorities are now investigating if the driver was under the influence of alcohol or any type of narcotics at the time of the accident.
