Soraya Jimenez Mendivil, who won the gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, suffered a heart attack on Thursday afternoon and passed away.

This tragic news has traveled through the Mexican media, and has made many people sad because the departure of this woman, who made an impact in this sport for the Aztec country, has been very sudden.
