Tijuana Toros end preseason on losing note

The team will debut on Mexico's Northern Baseball League on Wednesday

TIJUANA, BC.- The Tijuana Toros ended up their preseason with a defeat 4-1 against the Mexicali Aguiluchos, in a game before 1,000 people in Playas de Tijuana; the game was the last before the start of the 2013 season of Mexico's Northern Baseball League (LNM in Spanish).

Edgar Clemente from Aguiluchos made difference with a hit on the 8th inning, after carrying 7 innings with a tie 1-1, this allowed Eddie Salomon to hit home run a ball pitched by Israel Lomeli to give the team from the capital city of Baja California the lead 3-1.

In the last inning of the game, Mexicali would see how Abraham Robles made a hit to allow Salomon to score the 4-1 score.

Ricardo Martinez was the winning pitcher, while Lomeli had to carry with the defeat for Toros.

On Monday the border squad will rest but will be presented to its fans at a public ceremony that will be held on Plaza Monarca at 7PM. On Tuesday the team is expected to make its first training session at the Cerro Colorado Stadium.
