Tijuana's basketball season starts today

Zonkeys will have a road trip against 2 rivals before opening day at home

TIJUANA, BC.- Tijuana Zonkeys’ players have reported to be ready for the start of the 2013 season of the Basketball Circuit of the Pacific Coast, and they are hopeful to get their first victories when they visit Navolato Garra Cañera on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The inaugural series will be played at the Polideportivo in Navolato, starting at 7PM, Pacific Time.

Garra Cañera, The Cane’s Claw as Navolato is famous for its sugar cane farming, entered Cibacopa in 2012, having only played 4 times against Zonkeys. These 2 sides first met on Friday March 30th in Navolato with a win for the Tijuana team 94-87 and 92-66 in the next match.

In the home series at Auditorio Municipal in Tijuana, the results were once again in favor of the local squad, with Tijuana winning 88-76 and 71-62.

This means Garra Cañera has lost all its matches against the team in white and black stripes.

Preparing the home debut

On the other hand, the Zonkeys’ directors are preparing the opening series at home on April 13th and 14th when the team receives the visit by Ciudad Obregon Trigueros.

The ZonkeyPass can still be bought, starting at 800 Mexican Pesos or 70 US Dollars, at the official store in the lobby of the Auditorio in Tijuana or by calling 608-0938 from Tijuana or 011 52 (664) 608-0938 from the United States.
