Flash open up season with win over city rivals

SAN DIEGO, CA.- The San Diego Flash began a new season this past weekend and did it with an away win to local city rivals San Diego Boca at the Balboa Stadium inside San Diego High School. Goals were scored by Daniel Ortega on a penalty kick in the 50th minute, Lee Underwood in the 52th minute, and finally Eric Lafon got the decisive goal just before the final whistle.

The San Diego Flash play in the National Premier Soccer League and are led by key investors like Warren Barton. Barton who is also a soccer analyst with Fox Soccer Channel. The San Diego Flash also count on support from people like Eric Wynalda also of Fox Soccer Channel.

This is exactly the start of the season that the Flash were looking for after the tough elimination from the US Lamar Hunt Open Cup. The Flash were the number one seed going into the qualifying tournament to find out who will represent the NPSL in the US Open Cup. FC Hasental got a 2-0 win over the Flash in the first round of play to leave out the San Diego side.

The home games for the San Diego Flash are played in Del Norte High School stadium near Poway. The next home game for the San Diego Flash will be on Saturday April 20 at 6:00 PM against FC Santa Clarita Storm

Prior to home opening game the Flash will have an away game at Orange County Spartans on Saturday April 13. Time is still to be determined.
