SAN DIEGO, CA.- The eyes of the entire Mexican Baseball League (LMB) will be set in Tijuana starting April 9. The multiple time champion Diablos Rojos from the state of Mexico will play two important series in the Gasmart stadium; home of the Tijuana Toros.

The summer league is barely starting out for the Toros, but it is vital that the region’s baseball fans show up in great numbers to the Diablos Rojos’ upcoming series to demonstrate the interest to LMB directors.

Former San Diego Padre Miguel Ojeda’s side has declared itself ready to take on Olmecas of Tabasco and Piratas of Campeche after having played series in Yucatan and Cancun. The games against Olmecas will be on Wednesday and Thursday, while the series against Piratas will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

With a record if seven wins and seven losses the Diablos Rojos is currently in sixth place in the northern zone. They expect to receive full support from the Toros of Tijuana fan base to get through the difficult Olmecas who have in their roster Tijuana native Daniel Nuñez, infielder Jesses Castillo, as well as pitcher Jasiel Acosta.

The Tijuana crowd will be treated to the reunion of the ‘Valencia Destruction Brothers’; that pair of players that received so much attention in 2004 when they played for the Tijuana Toros.

Second basemen Carlos ‘Chapis’ Valencia will be on the field for the Diablos Rojos while Abraham Valencia will be in the Olmecas outfield.

One of the main attractions will be the presence of local boys and former mayor league player Oscar Robles and Leonardo Heras who are from Tijuana and Tecate respectfully.

For the series against Piratas, Miguel Ojeda will send out David Reyes and Rolando Valdez as the starting pitchers. Both of these guys won the 2013 Caribbean Classic with Yaquis of Obregon.
