Arrest Warrant issued for "Canelo" Alvarez in Mexico

He will fight on Saturday

SAN DIEGO, CA.- Saul "Canelo" Alvarez who is set to fight this coming Saturday April 20 against Austin Trout on Pay Per View is facing an arrest warrant in his home state of Jalisco in Mexico.

‘Canelo’ Alvarez was accused by Ulises "Archi" Solis to having assaulted him. Solis made the accusation with the Public Ministry of Jalisco claiming that Alvarez caused three facial fractures and a brain concussion which is the cause of his double vision.

The incident happened about two and a half years ago on October 25, 2010.

The Public Ministry of Jalsico has also requested the arrest warrant of Saul’s brother Juan Ramon Alvarez for false testimony in the case.

Mexican judge Alejandro Guevara Pedroza issued both arrest warrants, and the Alvarez brothers will have to appear before a judge in Jalisco.
