Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuitles is back in action this Saturday when they face Morelia. The Xolos need to start picking up the wins in the Liga MX competition as their playoffs chances continue to dwindle away with each passing game. The Xolos got a rare treat this week in the form of rest; there was no midweek game and the Tijuana squad could focus all week long on this game.
The match is scheduled for this Saturday April 20 at 5:00 PM local time at the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana. The game will be part of Week 15 of the Clausura season of the Liga MX.
Only three games remain in the regular season, and Club Tijuana is in for a grueling fight to enter the playoffs. The Xolos are currently in 12th place of the table with 18 points, only the top eight advance to the the playoffs. But they are still within reach of the playoffs since the eight place team only has 20 points.
The Xoloitzcuitles are coming off of a historic loss in club history last Saturday at the hands of Cruz Azul who took a 5-0 victory. With that game the Xolos are now winless in their last six games and only one win in the last ten games.
Monarcas Morelia will pose a big challenge for the Aztec dogs, they along with Cruz Azul are the only teams in the Liga MX that can say that they've never lost to the current champion. Morelia started the season off slow, but has made the most of a mid season managerial change. They are now sitting comfortable in sixth place with 21 points and should be able to reach the playoffs.
