L.A. kidnapper caught in Tijuana

He is accused of kidnapping and assaulting a 10 year old girl

Tobias Dustin Summer, who is accused of kidnapping and assaulting a 10 year old girl in the state of California, was arrested in Tijuana and handed over to local authorities yesterday afternoon after he tried to hide in an alcohol rehabilitation center. He was first spotted in the street and then was reported by someone to the state police.

According to the LAPD, Summers along with another accomplice on March 27 kidnapped a young girl in Los Angeles, California, while she was in her room. They then took the girl to two different locations in different vehicles. Summers later on left the young girl near a hospital, but not before sexually assaulting her. Since then, California police have been looking for this man, but was only able to arrest his accomplice on March 31, who is now facing kidnapping and burglary charges.

A few days ago authorities suspected that Summers had crossed into Mexico through the U.S-Mexico border in Tecate, which put Mexican authorities and the citizens of Baja California on alert.

Yesterday afternoon, an FBI spokeswoman revealed the capture of this fugitive in a press conference in the city of Los Angeles, and did not release any other specific details on his arrest.

Summers, 32, is now facing more than 34 criminal counts that include kidnapping, rape and burglary.
