"The Champion Reappeared" : Mohamed

Looking forward to Copa Libertadores

Xolos manger Antonio Mohamed left Saturday night's game already thinking about the Copa Libertadores, but he did say that the champion had reappeared and that he was happy that the team closed out the season in winning form.

"We closed out the season nicely, we got a home win that will boost the morale heading to Brazil" said Mohamed

About the game itself, Mohamed was clear in that his team played with lots of intensity and that it was the goals that changed the dynamics of the game.

"The team showed that intensity that it is accustom to, the goal in which their defense collapses and we just keep going forward influenced the outcome a lot. But the important part is that after a few rough weeks we have recuperated our intensity" explained Mohamed.

Individually Mohamed praised Richard Ruiz's work and stated that he will be playing against Palmeiras in the return leg. He also gave special mention to the youngster Bruno Piceno who netted his first goal in first division.

"These players keep asking for more opportunities with the type of work they put in. I have ten days to prepare the game against Palmeiras and the only thing I am sure of is that Ruchard Ruiz will play, we'll see about the other ten players" stated Mohamed

In regards to the professional debut of Oliver Ortiz, Mohamed explained why he appeared as a central defender even though he came to the team as a forward,

"He was a forward that gradually stepped back in the field, he played defensive mid for a while and now he's playing in the center of defense. He has good qualities to become a top defender, among them he is really good in the air and can head the ball really nicely" concluded Mohamed.
