Yesterday, the Tijuana Municipal Police found more than two tons of marijuana in a warehouse located in La Mesa. Officers were not actually looking for this substance, what they were investigating was a report of a kidnapping in the area.
This warehouse, which is located next to Benton Boulevard and the "Via Rapida Ponentie" (Main Highway that heads West), looked to be a place where vegetables are stored. Police did not find any who seemed to be kidnapped like what the anonymous complaint indicated, but instead found drug packages that were inside a van in cardboard boxes, along with some soap to avoid the smell.
The place was guarded by officers for about two hours after, approximately from 6:00 to 8:00 am, while they waited for Federal public officials to arrive.
