Javier "Chicharito" Hernández says goodbye to Ferguson with a Goal

The last game

In his final game as Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson got the joy of a victory as his Red Devils defeated Swansea City 2-1 in Old Trafford.

Mexican international Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez opened up the scoring in the 39th minute. Swansea would equalize through Michu in the 49. And as a custom for years with Sir Alex's Manchester United; the winning goal came in late and in dramatic fashion. Rio Ferdinand grabbed the game winning goal in the 87th minute.

It was already planned for the champion's trophy to be handed to Manchester United on this day even though they sealed the championship four weeks ago. After the squad received their champions medals it was Sir Alex Ferguson who lifted the championship trophy instead of captain Patrice Evra.

With his 13th league title as manger of Manchester United, Ferguson says goodbye to the dugout and says hello to an executive office. Sir Alex sent a message to all United fans through the PA system at Old Trafford thanking them for everything and asking for their support of the new manager coming in.

"The first few years here were rough, but you all stood by me. Now it is your job to stand by your new manager" said Sir Alex Ferguson.
