No more food stamps for kids?

"Those unwilling to work will not get to eat"

Nearly 47 million Americans receive government assistance through the "Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program", and among the many people who benefit from this program are children, the elderly, low-income and disabled persons.

But, due to the current state of the U.S. economy and because of the recent government budget cuts, this program is also now at risk. A few members of the Republican Party are now seeking to cut much of the funds for this program, which has a budget of over $ 80 trillion dollars.

After a discussion between Republicans and Democrats, the Democrat of California, Juan Vargas quoted the Bible by saying that Jesus said that how we treat others is how we treat him. And to this the Tennessee Republican Stephen Fincher said that "those unwilling to work will not get to eat."

Apparently Republicans see the less fortunate as lazy people. Although, there are those who only seek to take advantage of this program. But, because of this will they really leave out those who are really in need of this program? A program where children make up almost half of its beneficiaries, and who most belong to families with very low incomes or who live in the streets. So if this program is greatly affected, what will they do? This assistance is something that literally feeds them.

Fincher "coincidentally" owns a farm in Tennessee that provides millions of dollars to the same subsidy that he is seeking to make cuts to, hidden agenda? Some think so. On his Facebook page some have begun to attack him by saying he does not know what it's like going hungry, and how dare he be so hypocritical to want to remove something from which it benefits from.
