Floyd Mayweather has not fought twice in the same year since 2007

MEXICO. - Saul "Canelo" Alvarez confirmed through his official Twitter account that September 14 has become a mandatory workday for him, due to the Mexican Independence Day celebration. On this occasion his opponent will be Floyd Mayweather, who currently is considered the best pound for pound boxer in the world.

The contract was signed by the Mexican fighter alongside of the general manager of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar de la Hoya, in which both were optimistic about this next fight on September 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Alvarez is coming out of a recent fight where he defeated Austin Trout, while Mayweather is also coming off a victory against Robert Guerrero by a unanimous decision after 12 rounds.

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will now be fighting in the biggest match and against the best opponent so far in his career this September 14, 2013, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Floyd Mayweather has not fought twice in the same year since 2007, but he is making an exception this year.
