Jorge Almiron New Xolos Manager

According to Defensores y Justicia their manager Jorge Almiron will leave to manage Xolos.

ARGENTINA - Club Tijuana played their final game under manager Antonio "El Turco" Mohamed in last night's 1-1 draw to Atletico Mineiro that saw the Xolos eliminated from the Copa Libertadores. Lots of names have been floating around in the press during the last few week as to who would take Mohamed's spot on the Xolos' bench; but it all seems to point to Argentine Jorge Almiron.

Club "Defensa y Justicia" from Argentina's Nacional B (second division) announced today that their current manager Jorge Almiron would play out the final three games in the Nacional B season then report to Tijuana to manage the Xoloitzcuitles.

Almiron is no stranger to Mexican territory, he has managed before second division teams like Dorados de Sinaloa, Veracruz, and Correcaminos.

He first arrived to Mexico in 1997 to play for Atlas, he then went on to play in Morelia where he played under "El Turco" Mohamed, Leon, and finally retired in Dorados de Sinaloa.

Almiron is yet to manage a first division team, but will be trusted to lead the Xolos squad through the local Liga MX as well as the CONCACAF Champion's League.

Official announcement by the Xoloitzcuitles directors will be made once everyone has returned from South America.
