Mexican ex-president promotes marijuana use

It’s time to put Mexico in the forefront of this as well

In an interview with The Seattle Times, former Mexican President Vicente Fox Quezada favored in creating the first U.S. Company who would legally sell marijuana in Mexico, and its legal distribution throughout the rest of country. This proposal was also conceived by Jamen Shively, former executive of Microsoft.

"I feel much more comfortable with someone like Mr. Shively handling this business instead of someone like Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman" said Fox, who also added that "it's time to change the game, start from scratch and have a new vision. This is why I applaud the efforts of this group."

The Mexican ex-President said that it is time for Mexico to open a debate on the legalization of this drug, to prevent the country from being continously devastated by the drug cartels and violence. He mentioned that this is already being done in other South American countries such as Uruguay, and that it's time to put Mexico in the forefront of this as well.

However, there is still much to discuss and details to work out for this to become a reality. International Standards have prohibited the importation of marijuana to Mexico, and not to mention the problems that this might be unleashed with criminal groups who control this business.
