Xolos in Group 7 of CONCACAF Champion's League

After a bit of confucion it was decided that Xolos will face Victoria and Luis A. Firpo.

MIAMI - The CONCACAF Champion's League (CCL) draw took place today in Miami and Club Tijuana now knows who they will face in the group stage. Deportivo Victoria of Honduras and Luis Angel Firpo of El Salvador will be the Xoloitzcuitles rivals in the group stage of the competition.

The CCL is formatted by eight groups of three teams, the top team from every group will advance to the quarterfinals of the competition in search of the FIFA Club World Cup ticket.

The CONCACAF has established that Liga MX teams can not face off against each other or against MLS teams. This rule was forgotten by the confederation directors' handling the draw tonight. Club Tijuana was originally set to face Luis Angel Firpo and Huston Dynamo. Cruz Azul of Mexico was also placed in the same group as the Los Angeles Galaxy.

CONCACAF executives had to manually change the groups 30 minutes after the conclusion of the ceremony so that the Mexican teams and the US teams did not play each other in the group stage.

The New Groups Are As Followed:

Group 1 – Arabe Unido (Panama), Huston Dynamo (USA), W Connection (Trinidad & Tobago)

Group 2 – Olimpia (Honduras), Kansas City (USA), Real Esteli (Nicaragua)

Group 3 – Herediano (Costa Rica), Cruz Azul (Mexico), Valencia F.C. (Haiti)

Group 4 – Club America (Mexico), Alajualense (Costa Rica), San Miguelito (Panama)

Group 5 – San Jose Earthquake (USA), Montreal Impact (Canada), "Guatemala 2"

Group 6 – Comunicaciones (Guatemala), Toluca (Mexico), Caldonia (Trinidad & Tobago)

Group 7 – Club Tijuana (Mexico), Victoria (Honduras), Luis Angel Firpo (El Salvador)

Group 8 – LA Galaxy (USA), Isidro Metapan (El Salvador), Cartagienes (Costa Rica)
