Flash cruise to a 4-2 win to Extend their Unbeaten Streak

Now seven games without a defeat for the San Diego Flash

SAN DIEGO, CA - San Diego Flash defeat the Las Vegas Stallions 4-2 and extend their unbeaten streak to seven games as they chase down first place in the NPLS Western South division. With only four games left in the regular season and their current hot streak the San Diego Flash believe top spot is within their reach.

Kickoff to Saturday's match was delayed for an hour due to a confusion with the officials. The halftime promotions and give aways had to be pushed to pre game in order to keep the crowd at the Del Norte stadium entertained.

The home team was clearly superior to their opponents, but could not reflect that on the scoreboard for the better part of the first half. Flash had speed down the wings as their main weapon of attack, but could not get the final killer pass right in the first half.

Right before halftime the Flash were able to open up the scoring and take a 1-0 lead to the break.

For the second half the home side were determined to show their vast superiority on the scoreboard. Three minutes into the second half and they had already put the ball into the net, but it was ruled off for offsides.

The local team clearly showed greater intensity in the second half than in the opening 45 minutes. This greater intensity was reward with another goal in the 65th minute.

That lead was cut down three minutes later after a Las Vegas counter attack.

Flash kept up the pressure on the visitors and added two more goals in the 73rd and 78th minute to make the score 4-1.

Clearly over match on the filed the Las Vegas team took out their frustrations by fouling, the San Diego team did not hold back either. The game could have gotten away from the referee's control who was hesitant to show cards. Some key yellow cards towards the end made sure things did not escalate further.

The visitors from the Nevada dessert got another goal in the 81st minute to make it a respectful 4-2 final score.

With this win the San Diego Flash extend their unbeaten streak to seven, and will host first place team FC Hasental next Saturday in a crucial match that can decide first place in the division.
