On Sunday there was a report that some police officers in Oaxaca, Mexico, assaulted a group of women and children from the Triqui tribe, a village located in the northeastern part of the state of Oaxaca.

The incident occurred around 5:00 pm (local time) and all those who were beaten were members of the Social Welfare Unit for the Triqui region and also from the regions of Guadalupe Tilapa Copala, Union de Los Angeles Copala, Yutazani Copala and Yerba Santa Copala.

The cause of this aggression is still unknown, however, the outrage of many people was immediate and who all began to post these images with the intent to turn around and uncover the mistreatment of these indigenous people. On the publication of these images, "The Triqui youth of Copala are with you!" was written, and the demands for justice for their countrymen were made.
