TIJUANA - This Thursday Club Tijuana presented their new manager Jorge Francisco Almiron. Almiron is coming from managing Argentine second division side Defensa y Justicia; Almiron was accompanied by club's Sporting Director Ignacio Palou.
"I'm very excited, it is a great responsibility to come into a team that has archived so much in so little time. But with every change newer expectations and objectives are built, which is exactly what we are preparing for" said Almiron
He spoke of his separation from Mexican soccer while he was in Argentina, but that he stayed in touch with Mohamed for which he was well aware of Xolos.
"I wasn't involved with Mexican soccer lately, but thanks to the relationship I have with Mohamed I was we'll aware of Xolos. The base of the team will remain the same even though there will be a few new faces. We also continue to work our youth system to promote the youngsters" said the new manager.m
He also mentioned how there really hasn't been any drastic changes to the teams in Mexico since he last worked in Mexico as an assistant to "Pajara" Chavez in Atlas.
Finally he mentioned that the negotiations between him and the club were with the club President Jorgealberto Hank Inzunza who traveled with him to South America to sign Ayovi to a three year contract and to bring in a another player whose name he did not give.
"The initial contact was with the president in Brazil before the Mineiro match, I traveled to meet the team, had a good talk with them. I know they had other options and am grateful for the opportunity" concluded Almiron.
