Tijuana Xolos Present New Signings

Javier Güemez, Abraham Riesta, Aldo Polo, Hercules Gomez and Emanuel Cerda.

TIJUANA - Tijuana Xolos Sporting Director Ignacio Palou presented this Sunday the new Xolos players for the 2012-2013 campaign of the Liga MX and CONCACAF Champion's League. Joining Xolos for this new season will be Javier Güemez, Abraham Riesta, Aldo Polo, Hercules Gomez and Emanuel Cerda.

Palou began by talking about the expectations of the team for the new season and Hercules Gomez's situation who one year ago the team looked to sign as well as the player wanting to come. He highlighted the fact theat Gomez has the duo citizenship and is a regular call up to the USMNT and that he will come in to to further establish that "border town team" characteristic of the Xoloitzcuitles.

Gomez in his first words as a Xoloitzcuitle thanked the club for brining him in and that Xolos was always a team he was interested in because of its proximity to San Diego, the fan base, and their style of play.

"Tijuana has shown in very little time that they want to be an internationally known team with their campaign in Copa Libertadores, I feel at home close to San Diego" commented Gomez.

Abraham Riestra who is coming in from Celaya and Javier Güemez who comes from Dorados were grateful to the club for the opportunity and very excited about their first chance at first division soccer.

Emmanuel Cerda and Aldo Polo agreed that Tijuana was a great team to be in because they usually get the most out of their players. They are confident that they will regained that level of play they once had at other teams.

Palou also mentioned that Club president Jorgealberto Hank Inzunza was scheduled to return from South America on Sunday night to finalize the last addition to the team, but the name of said player was not given. Palou also explained the current situation of Joshua Abrego and Diego Olsina; it is still not decided whether the players will begin the season with Tijuana or Dorados.
