Three Tijuana Xolos players to Gold Cup with USA

Joe Corona, Edgar Castillo, and Hercules Gomez will be part of team USA.

CHICAGO - U.S. Soccer Federation announced today the roster that U.S. Men's National Team head coach has selected to participate in this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup hosted in the USA. Among the 23 man roster is three Tijuana Xolos player; Joe Corona, Edgar Castillo, and newly signed Hercules Gomez.

Corona, Castillo,mans Gomez will join goalkeeper Cirilo Saucedo who is with the Mexican national team in missing the beginning of the Apertura season of Liga MX due to Gold Cup duties. Both Mexico and the USMNT are expected to make the final of this tournament which is scheduled for July 28. New Liga MX season will kickoff on July 19 for which the four players will have to miss the first few games with the Tijuana Xolos.

Here is the full squad that USMNT head coach Jürgan Klinsmann has called up:

Goalkeepers: Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

Defenders: Corey Ashe (Houston Dynamo), DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Tony Beltran (Real Salt Lake), Edgar Castillo (XOLOS), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Oguchi Onyewu (Malaga), Michael Orozco Fiscal (Puebla), Michael Parkhurst (FC Augsburg)

Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Helsinborg), Joe Corona (XOLOS), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Joshua Gatt (Molde FK), Stuart Holden (Bolton), Jose Torres (Tigres)

Forwards: Will Bruin (Houston Dynamo), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Herculez Gomez (XOLOS), Jack McInerney (Philadelphia Union), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes)

San Diego will have an opportunity to see this team in action prior to the start of the Gold Cup as the USMNT will play their only preparation match at Qaulcomm Stadium on

Friday July 5 against Guatemala.
