Tijuana Xolos 5-0 San Diego Boca: First practice match

In the first preseason game Tijuana Xolos crushed their opponents.

CHULA VISTA – Club Tijuana played their first preseason game and got a 5-0 win over San Diego Boca in a game played at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.

Tijuana Xolos are now a week into their preseason training in San Diego and the team is starting to come together. The goals of this match were scored by Bruno Piceno (minute 15), Richard Ruiz (minute 19), Fidel Martinez (minute 34), Diego Olsina (minute 35), and Pablo Aguilar (minute 48).

The new Tijuana Xolos manager Jorge Almiron sent out in the starting lineup: Adrian Zermeño in goal, team captain Javier Gandolfi and Pablo Aguilar as the two central defenders, Greg Garza as the left back and Aldo Polo as the right back. All four seemed relaxed and did not allow too much from the San Diego Boca attack.

In midfield Cristian Pellerano was accompanied by Bruno Piceno and Diego Olsina. And that is were the first goal of the game came from; Piceno slid to push in the ball after a cross from the left wing by Fidel Martinez. Richard Ruiz had a good game playing on the right wing scoring a goal in minute 19 after a through ball from Diego Olsina.

Emmanuel Cerda started the game as the center striker and was very involved through the match. He got the third goal started with good play between him, Cristian Pellerano and Fidel Martinez who finished slotting the ball over the charging goalkeeper in the 34th minute.

One minute after the Martinez goal Diego Olsina fired a shot after a Richard Ruiz low cross to make it 4-0.

Pablo Aguilar would add the fifth after surprisingly joining the attack and dribbling the ball all the way inside the box and finishing in front of the San Diego Boca goalkeeper in the 48th minute.

During the second half Almiron sent out to the field for the Tijuana Xolos; Sergio Vega in goal, Carlos Rubio, Alfredo Gonzalez-Tauhilan, Abraham Riesta, and Luis Eduardo Garcia in defense; Greg Garza got pushed up the left wing, Oliver Ortiz, Javier Guemez and Alejandro Guido played in the midfield. And the attack was composed of Antonio Madueña and Paul Arriola.

It was a good overall performance by the team, they maintained their lines compact during the friendly game in the United States. Tijuana Xolos will continue their preseason training in San Diego

nd it will be next Saturday July 6 when they play their next preseason friendly, this time against the newly crowned Mexican league champions Club America in Petco Park, the home of the san Diego Padres.
