With the first preliminary numbers revealed by the Electoral Institute for Information and Citizen Participation of Baja California (IEPCBC), it showed 49% of the votes in favor of Kiko Vega and 42% in favor of Fernando Castro Trenti.

With the crowd chanting "Governor", Francisco "Kiko" Vega de Lamadrid thanked the support of all the political parties that were part of the "United for Baja California" alliance.
At this victory speech he was accompanied by his campaign team and the national presidents of the National Action Party (PAN) and the the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), Gustavo Madero and Jesus Zambrano.

After talking with media, Kiko Vega proceeded to celebrate the election victory with his followers in the Cuauhtemoc roundabout in the city of Tijuana, Baja California.
