Fernando Castro Trenti has now publically accepted his defeat in the election, where was seeking to become the next governor of Baja California.

With most of the votes that have now been counted electronically, which show an amount not favorable for him, Trenti said he wished the best of luck to the winners and reiterated his commitment to continue supporting the state, even if it's all the way from Congress.

Meanwhile, Cesar Camacho Quiroz, National President of the PRI party, noted that they will not contest the election results.

"The data that is available to us gives us a disadvantage in Baja California and Fernando Castro Trenti has decided, with the support of the party, not to contest the election results. We hope that the right wing party can govern the state with the support of the left, and I seriously mean that," said Camacho in an interview with Grupo Milenio.

The Electoral Institute for Citizen Participation of Baja California (IEPCBC) has not yet officially announced the election winner, but so far the data matches the preliminary results, where there was a difference of about 25,000 votes in favor of Kiko Vega, candidate of the alliance "United for Baja California". On Tuesday, the candidates for governor and mayors who won the elections will receive the official results on paper from the IEPCBC.
