Tijuana Xolos 1-1 Dorados: Even match between affiliates

"Brothers" Xolos and Dorados end in a 1-1

In the final game of the preseason Tijuana Xolos took a 1-1 against Dorados de Sinaloa. The game was hard fought by both but neither could come out on top.

The game started off very even, both Dorados and Tijuana Xolos looked to attack each other but neither really created much danger. No team established any dominance over the other, which caused a nice back and forth rhythm.

The scoreboard was moved in the 32nd minute by a Cristian Pellerano penalty kick. Pablo Aguilar had surpriced everyone with a run up the field. A through ball was played to him and he entered the box full speed ahead and received a sliding tackle from the back. The center referee did not doubt to call the penalty kick.

The game stayed an even fight after the Tijuana goal. In an odd first half substitution Xolos manager decided to send in newest Xolo Dario Benedetto and remove youth product Bruno Piceno during the 42nd minute.

The substitution caused the Xolo defense to lose concentration for a moment; something the visiting team took advantage of. Following the substitution Raul Enriquez grabbed the ball and sent a long through ball to Jesus Padilla who beat out the Xolos defenders on a race to the ball and blasted the ball into Zermeño's first post.

The second half was also a tough even battle. Both teams fought hard for the ball, but neither squad was able to create dangerous plays on the goals. Both teams also made a lot of substitutions during the second half which cased the game rhythm from the first half to scientifically drop.

Tijuana Xolos had a great chance to take the lead in the 77th minute when a long found Emmanuel Cerda, the ball bounced a little to high for Cerda who opted to chip the ball over to Dario Benedetto, but the ball came to high for him as well. The bounce gave the Dorados defense enough time to block to the shot.

The game ended with the 1-1 draw, a result that was fair since no team was able to dominate the other. Now Tijuana Xolos will have one week to prepare for the season opener at home against Atlas.
