TIJUANA - The USMNT forward Herculez Gomez is currently on his way to San Diego after having participated in the group stage of the Gold Cup with the USMNT.

According to a tweet published by Gomez himself in which he says good bye to his National Team teammates and expresses his confidence in them. "I know the boys can take care of business. Miss you guys already"

USMNT head coach Jürgan Klinsmann had mentioned it in days past that he would be giving other players an opportunity during the knockout phase of the tournament. The last day to make squad changes was today Wednesday.

Gomez participated in two of the three group stage games for the American side, as well has having played in their only preparation match against Guatemala in San Diego.

He will now join his club Tijuana Xolos, hoping to return to action in week three game against Pachuca at the Estadio Caliente.
