Xolos of Tijuana meet with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto

"I know that they are a great example for the youth"

MEXICO. - After seven months of winning the Liga MX championship title, the Xoloitzcuintles of Tijuana finally met with President Enrique Peña Nieto at the presidential residence "Los Pinos".

Team Captain, Javier Gandolfi, and the Xolos Club President Jorgealberto Hank Inzunza, and obviously the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, all spoke to the press, where Gandolfi thanked the president for receiving the team and that it was an honor to be next to the leader of the country.

"Mr. President it is an honor for all of us to have been received by you. We have worked very hard every day to give it all of our best and today we are happy, we are enjoying a unique moment," said Gandolfi.

"On behalf of all of the Xoloitzcuintles of Tijuana, I thank you Mr. President for having us. This is an important day, and I also want to thank all the fans and the team for putting their courage on the field, where we hope to return to soon," said Hank.

Peña Nieto closed the ceremony with a few words to honor the champions.

"I want to congratulate the players for obtaining this title. I am very happy to receive them here. They defeated Toluca back then, and I was actually supporting Toluca. But now as President I support everyone. I wish them well, and I know that they are a great example for the youth. I hope that they continue to have great success, because I know that they are attracting a lot of fans in that part of the country, "concluded Peña.
