TIJUANA – The big question is how will the fans at the Estadio Caliente receive the Colombian striker when his name is announced? Will the fans cheer him on like they did with Joaquin del Olmo, Joshua Abrego, and Raul Enriquez when they came in with their new teams in the preseason; in a show of gratitude? Or will they boo him in a show of anger for the leaving the team and missing a crucial penalty kick that would have meant a historic semifinal ticket into the Copa Libertadores final?
The Xolos vs Pachuca match correspondent to the week 3 of the Apertura season of the Liga Bancomer MX is scheduled for Tuesday night at 7:30PM local time at the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana.
The Xoloitzcuintles will be looking to erase the bitter 3-3 draw that they got in the opening game of the season against Atlas. A game were debuting Xolo player Dario Benedetto scored his first career “Hat-Trick” and the first ever Xolos first division “Hat-Trick”. Xolos held a two goal lead twice during that game and could not walk off the field with the victory.
The Tijuana side should be well rested for this midweek game since their week 2 match in Mexico City against reigning champions Club America got postponed due to the amount of national team players America had with the Mexican National Team at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Xolos players should also come into this game very motivated after getting a presidential invite from Mexico president Enrique Peña Nieto in order to congratulate them on conquering the Apertura 2012 championship.
Pachuca comes into this game at the top of the table after two rounds in this new season. The “Tuzos” got a 0-1 away win at Toluca to start the season, and a 2-1 home win last weekend against on of the stronger Mexican league sides; Tigres. They also got a 1-0 home win over second division side Lobos BUAP where Mexican legend Cuauhtemoc Blanco plays last Tuesday in the Cup competition; Copa MX.
