Parking will be free in Baja California

New law has been approved to benefit motor vehicle owners

The state congress of Baja California determined that both public and private parking in the region should count with sufficient spaces and offer said spaces in a cost free manner.

Virginia Noriega Rios, deputy congresswoman for the party PRI was the one who presented the initiative when she observed that even though there have been many new spaces build for leisure as well as services, these do not count with sufficient space for all motor vehicle owners as well as also charging for the time spent at the establishment, something that should be free for consumers.

The legislation received 17 votes in favor with support from several political parties, including PRI, PVEM and PT.

It is being discussed when the new law that modifies article 22 of the building and zoning state laws will take effect, but it should be established within the next few days.
